I’ve been to Spain, and it has become one of my favorite travel memories. I went there two years ago with my friend Vanessa, and we spent ten days between Madrid and Barcelona, with short visits to Toledo, Segovia, and Ávila. The main reason I chose Spain was Gaudí. I had always wanted to see his architecture in real life, and Barcelona gave me that experience. To be honest, Barcelona was beautiful but a little chaotic, while Madrid felt more organized and safer. We took direct flights, so the journey was easier than my trip to Egypt. What surprised me most was how warm people were. They were very welcoming and often called us cariño, which made the conversations feel friendly. The food was not my favorite. I did not try paella because I usually feel sick when I eat seafood, but I ate jamón almost every day. In the end, Spain surprised me because it felt familiar and different at the same time. I loved the language, the art, and the culture, and I could imagine living there someday.

I’ve been to Spain, and I completely fell in love with the way the country made me feel. I’ve never felt so at home and comfortable in another place.

I went there because I wanted to see Gaudí’s architecture, and that was one of my biggest dreams. I visited La Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà and Park Güell.

I also visited the main museums and admired some of my favorite painters, such as Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Kandinsky, Miró, Monet, Van Gogh and Munch.

It was one of the most emotional trips I’ve ever taken. What surprised me most was that I actually preferred Madrid to Barcelona, even though I love the beach.

Madrid feels like São Paulo, but I felt very connected to the city. I loved the culture and the people because they felt very similar to us.
